The main objective of the activity, which is being carried out from March 18 to 22, is to strengthen Spanish exports of Fluid Handling Equipment, Solutions and Process Technologies, and increase the sales of those companies that already are present in the area.
The companies that, together with FLUIDEX, participate in the activity are: ACTREG (manufacture and sales of high quality actuators), MAPNER (pneumatic rotary machines), ORBINOX (manufacturing and marketing of Knife Gate and Special Valves), SCHMIDT CLEMENS (producer of high alloy castings) and UNIONES ARPOL (flexible couplings in stainless steel).
Bolivia has accumulated an annual growth rate of over 5% in recent years. It should also be noted that the country’s productive structure has not changed since the predominance of the primary raw material production sectors is maintained. Therefore, the national economy is sustained by the performance of the production and exports of natural gas and minerals (silver, zinc, lead and tin).
Oil&Gas: In 2014, YPFB personnel reported reaching a maximum capacity of 70Mcm/d at the Sabalo-Itau expansions, and 25.5bcm at Margarita, which supports an optimistic outlook for the sector, although production is expected to moderate.
The outlook for upstream natural gas exploration and production remains strong. Total, for example, plans to spend $130m to explore the Azero block. BG and Gazprom as well as other companies have expressed new investments in upstream.
Water: In Bolivia, the quality of life of the urban and rural population (including indigenous peoples) is seriously affected and limited by the high and persistent deficits in the basic services of Potable Water, Sewage, Excreta Disposal and Solid Waste.
According to the Ministry of Environment and Water, about 76.8 million Bolivianos (US$11.1 million) have been invested in 12 drinking water and basic sanitation projects in the department of Beni and will benefit more than 157,817 inhabitants of the municipalities of Exaltación, San Andrés, San Borja, Trinidad, Riberalta and San Ignacio. Of the twelve projects, three are in the execution stage; the construction of a subway well in San Borja and the construction of a drinking water system for 10 neighborhoods in Trinidad, in addition to sanitary sewerage. The works require an investment of 42.8 million bolivianos and will benefit 118,473 inhabitants.
