Simple cycle power plant (740MW) in the Tobruk desert in Libya.
IES Soler was in charge of designing and calculating the liquid fuel-heating equipment needed for the TOBRUK OPEN CYCLE POWER PLANT in Tobruk, North Libya, while METKA took care of the engineering part in this project. This plant can operate with natural gas or distillate fuel and its total power is 740MW. IES Soler designed and manufactured liquid-fuel heaters to power four General Electric GT13E2 turbines.
Tower solar thermal power station in Morocco
Heating up molten salt tanks.
Molten salt systems usually operate with two storage tanks at different filling levels and temperatures, i.e. cold and hot salt tanks. The molten salt in the cold tank circulates through the cycle, whereas the salt in the hot tank circulates to produce power for the system.
These molten salts are re-circulated by pumps through the solar receptor to heat it up and feed the solar steam generator, store the power during the hours with high solar radiation and supply it when it’s dark.
Design and supply of a complete ICAO Beaconing system for the Three Chimenys of the Besós (Barcelona)
n 2022, after months of hard work, IES completed the supply and fine-tuning of a complete system made up of 21 medium-intensity DUAL type A/C obstacle beacons and 21 medium-intensity type C beacons of the LUX SOLAR brand, all connected to 3 control panels with GPS, in order to bring the facilities of the Three Chimneys into line with the aeronautical easement requirements of the State Aviation Safety Agency (AESA).
